Danielle D.I.’s Feud – Response to Ex

Published

on

Danielle D.I. has been embroiled in recent controversy after her Onstage TV interview with Winford Williams. After tons of speculation the Rebel singjay has decided to respond that her supporters and well-wishers can gain a sense of understanding directly from her. She has also launched two scorching fresh tracks this week, “So Blessed” and “Nothing on Me.” The Rebel is in high spirits and will make a special appearance in Philadelphia this weekend.

According to Danielle D.I. “Whatever transpired between my ex and I should be completely confidential. Over the years I always chose to keep my romantic life private. The only reason the situation came to the forefront was to clarify a lyric from the diss track which claimed that, “Baller bust your salad” and that I was seeking a come up; both are far from the truth.

Our families, colleagues and close friends are witnesses. They can have seen the fairytale highs as well as the traumatic and very abusive lows, during our involvement since my teens until about 2010. They know and understand our story.

A lot of what I said has been misinterpreted. The statement “Go in as the wife and exit as the wife,” was simply to clarify that at no point was I ever his “side-chick”. We have both moved on since and I have gained my freedom. I can freely pursue my music, which was a big issue in that relationship.

Danielle D.I. is focused on her music. Her latest release is titled, “So Blessed,” a track dedicated to all mothers. This song showcases how meaningful the word mother means to her. “So Blessed” was produced by Smokey Ent and is an emotional piece that shows respect. It will resonate with those that also share the same sentiments towards their matriarchs.

British based Lewis Planter Music produced the additional release, “Nothing On Me”.This track has an original dancehall feel. It gives a throw back vibe that is still appreciated today. Both tracks are available exclusively on VEVO.

Danielle D.I. will be making a special appearance this Saturday October 14th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She will be hosting Island rhythms at The Reef located at 605 S 3rd St.

Aidonia Goes Mainstream In Britain & Turns To Africa

Published

on

Enjoying arguably the best year of his career, dancehall star Aidonia appears to be on a resolute path to conquer new terrains amid broadening his musical horizon.

Back from a three-week stint in Europe where he connected with new and existing fans while reaffirming his brand. The 4th Genna boss has now turned his attention to Africa, a growing market for Reggae and Dancehall that has the potential to eclipse Reggae-havens Europe and Japan in the foreseeable future.

With his sight firmly fixed on the Motherland, Aidonia late last week released a collaborative effort titled ‘My Queen’ featuring Ghanian superstar Shatta Wale. Recorded in New York City the Platinum Kids/Calli B produced single will be featured on their upcoming EP titled ‘Platinum Kids and Friends’ which is set for release later this year.

“In recent times I have been making a greater impact internationally especially in North America. I  just got back from Europe and the support was overwhelming. So now we are looking into other markets where we can expand brand Aidonia and Africa is nicely poised. They have been calling for some time now so we are finally answering that call. This collaboration with Shatta Wale is just the first of several major projects in the work for the rest of the quarter.” – Aidonia explained.

Christopher Martin & Friends Back To School Treat was truly a “Big deal”

Published

on

The Christopher Martin Foundation is proud to have presented a very successful  second staging  of our back to school treat and concert on Friday, September 1st, 2017. The Watermount family and surrounding communities truly enjoyed Christopher Martin’s Back to School Treat and Concert; the brain child and one of the core objectives of the Christopher Martin Foundation. It was indeed a BIG DEAL!!!

On the heels of a successful first staging in 2015, it was the vision of Christopher and the team to entertain and give back to his community through the form of back to school supplies (such as backpacks, books, pens, pencils, crayons, rulers etc), refreshments, rides, among other fun filled activities in a very comfortable environment. The event was staged at the WaterMount Primary School, St. Catherine and provided an entire day and evening of fun. Kids had access to a plethora of rides, attractions and treats including themed bounceabouts, merry-go-round, face painting, fun interactions with clowns and mascots as well as fun activities on stage (including musical chairs, deejay competition and dance competition) in which prizes were offered as well as balloon artistry and frozen novelties. Our little ones were well fed and abundantly refreshed all day. The gates opened at 10 am sharp and was preceded by a moving prayer by Mrs Maxine Martin (Christopher’s Mom) which was followed by a very fun filled, incident free 14 hour event.

The event garnered great support from corporate partners. We greatly appreciate KFC Jamaica, Wisynco, Reggae Jammin’, Starlight Productions, Bolt Express Tours, KingAlarm, RD Studios, Logo Stitch. Special thanks is extended to members of the church and community volunteers, as well as the teachers of WaterMount Primary, who ensured that the event was well catered for with food and hospitality as well as aiding with the setup, execution and breakdown.

After the treat, we kicked things into high gear with a live concert and musical showcase which started at 7 pm. The showcase featured a Community Segment, which featured talented acts from in and around the Watermount Community, which were met with much cheers pre and post performances. Sincere thanks can be extended to Christopher’s friends in music who performed many thrilling sets throughout the night; Sativa, Lia Caribe, Nikita Steer, Timeless Dancers, Slash, Javada, D-Major, Symatic, Devin Di Dakta, Bling Dawg, Bugle and Vershon. The live concert came to close just after midnight and the patrons staying until the very last song.

The Christopher Martin Foundation is truly grateful for the opportunity to give back in such a major way and looks forward to staging more editions of this treat and assisting the Watermount Community however best we can.
